We always hear the phrase: “you can’t manage what you can’t measure.” Hawaii is one of the first states to take that statement seriously when it comes to sustainability.
The Aloha + Challengeis a goal of Hawaii Green Growth to start measuring and tracking key sustainability targets for the state. The target areas include: 1) Clean Energy; 2) Waste Reduction; 3) Local Food; 4) Green Workforce & Education; 5) Smart Sustainable Communities; and 6) Natural Resource Management. They have engaged stakeholders and experts across the state in collecting data to manage the state’s performance over time and are on track for reaching their goals.
Nice work Hawaii!
The Aloha+ Challenge identifies six ambitious, interconnected sustainability goals to be acheived by 2030 in these areas.
