Sustainable Pacific Facilitates Social Enterprise Workshop for Hiʻilei Aloha
Hiʻilei Aloha is non-profit organization with a mission to identify, promote, develop, and support culturally-appropriate, sustainable opportunities that benefit Native Hawaiians. One of Hiʻilei Aloha’s programs supports capacity-building of Native Hawaiian small businesses. In June 2015, Sustainable Pacific’s CRO, Kainoa Casco, facilitated a social enterprise workshop for the current cohort of enterprises participating in the program. He conducted a World Cafe’ session and presented on social enterprise management practices. He also helped each cohort member develop practical tools for developing capacity to account for social, environmental, financial, and cultural performance and how their business models could be aligned with Native Hawaiian culture.
