Sustainable Pacific to Support Maui County in Developing a Climate Action & Resiliency Plan
Sustainable Pacific is working with the County of Maui to develop a Climate Action and Resiliency Plan (CARP). The Plan will build upon previous work, while engaging county and community stakeholders, modeling potential impacts, and providing strategies that guide climate action and resiliency.
The project will include the following climate action efforts, including:
Conducting a vulnerability assessment
Establishing a baseline using greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventories
Understanding impacts from a do-nothing scenario using business-as-usual (BAU) forecasts
Setting goals through BAU and reduction modeling guided by stakeholder feedback
Linking climate action to community co-benefits
Engaging the county and community stakeholders
Developing a clear framework to guide implementation
Preparing an actionable Climate Action Resiliency Plan
Sustainable Pacific will work with Geos Institute and Lotus Engineering and Sustainability to co-create solutions that serve all of Maui County’s community equitably.
